After the Camry's 1220 mile trip last weekend we decided the old (2007) girl has been with us long enough. We traded the Camry in for a 2006 RAV4. It's something we've been contemplating for a while since the Camry wasn't really camping friendly, and it definitely doesn't have a good dog::kid barrier.
We checked out Joe Machen's Toyota last Saturday and they only had 1 used RAV4 in stock. People don't usually give them up so quickly. Since our car was still so new, and they would have no problem getting rid of it, we got a really nice deal for theirs and ours. The Camry was a year newer, but the RAV4 is higher in price, so they offset one another for an even trade. We put a little money down just so we can drop our payments quite a bit more to save a little more every month. ESPECIALLY with the house being gone. We had looked in March/April at a few RAV4's but with the house still on the market it was hard to spend any money.
We headed down to Columbia after work & picked it up. The people were really good there, and we were in and out in under an hour! It took several trips, at 2-3 hours each, when we bought the Camry in Milwaukee since their employee's had no idea what they were doing.
We got back to Kirksville and took the puppies for a quick ride. They were a little confused, but they didn't seem to mind the "Way-Back". They are going to have to get used to it when little Baby Syring comes along! :)
