Baby Syring

We'll just come out and say it...we're having a baby due February 2009!!! The most common question so far from everyone we've told was "Was it planned?" :) Actually yes it was. We've been telling everyone who asked when were we going to have kids, that we weren't going to have one while we were in school. But that was just to get people off our case...:) As Todd Flanders says: "Lies make baby Jesus cry". We decided that the end of Mara's Winter quarter was a good time since she can listen to lectures from home if needed, and most of the "harder" courses are over with; relatively speaking of course.
Mara had a great way of telling me the news. On my birthday (June 3rd) she picked me up from work to go to lunch. She said she had some pictures of the dogs that were pretty funny. When I looked, the only picture on the camera was that of a positive pregnancy test. We were pretty much in shock the remainder of lunch. It was exciting, but at the same time we were both thinking about the next 8 months! New territory for both of us!
We told Aunt Jen by sending her to Walgreens to pick up some photos we had printed there and Mara stuck in one of the ultrasound pictures. We wish we could have seen her reaction! :) We weren't going to see Jen when we headed to Wisconsin this weekend, so she got to find out a little earlier than the parents, and Chris & Shell just happened to be coming down last weekend so we wanted to get their reactions. Grandma Debbie was so excited that she didn't see Jackson walk in front of her and he got mowed down...Mara had a great quote. She told Michelle "Looks like Jackson isn't #1 anymore"". :)
The Bacon's I think are still in disbelief; I don't think Sally believes us quite yet. They were all really excited to get the baby socks we had written FEB 2009 on. Holly had actually anticipated something and made a baby blanket for us! We are always one step behind her! :)Nate actually called the pregnancy a month ago when we were camping. Mara had requested some caffeine free soda (which is rare for Mara!) and Nate flat out asked "Are you pregnant?". Luckily we responded that Mara was cutting back since she drank so much caffeine during school. Close call there...:) We actually found out only a few days earlier that she was pregnant. Allison also thought something was up, but was too polite to ask...leave it to Nate...:)
Here are our up to date ultrasounds as well as a video of our parent's reaction, as well as Michelle's reaction to the news...an instant classic...:)

We may be having issues with the next 2 videos, but they should be up either later today or tonight. Sorry!
