Busy Weekend

The Syring Family had an awesome weekend that exhausted the hell out of us, but it was SO much fun. Friday night we went up to the Bacon's and got to spend some time with Dan & Holly. We found out Dan has a slight chip in his Fibula (lower leg), that puts him out of commission for a month or so, but I doubt it will sideline him completely. Mara was able to help milk on Saturday so everyone could keep their day off schedule through the weekend. I was selfish & slept in until 8:00. We took Jack & Dusty (Bacon's Dogs) and Linus & Lucy to the Standing Rocks Dog Park on Saturday for a couple of hours, then took Linus & Lucy to Brainards Bridge Park in Waupaca so Lucy could swim and cool off. Mara found some time to relax with Linus while I tried to wear Lucy out.

Lucy got slower, as you can see in the video below, but never stopped playing. She is insane! She also had a surprise for a sleeping Mara...

We headed back to Milwaukee on Saturday night to prepare for the rest of our long weekend. We met Nikki, Crawford, & their dog CoCo at the dog park in Milwaukee on Sunday. They took Linus & Lucy until Tuesday, and Mara and I headed to Chicago! We stopped at our favorite driving range (GolfTec) in Des Planes, IL for some relaxation. It was almost 85°F, but after the cold snap last week, that felt awesome.

Mara took an awesome action photo of me. If you click on the picture you can even see the ball rocketing out over the range. I'm pretty sure it's a dead hook left...

We then headed to our hotel & then to downtown Chicago. We ate at a restaurant called Vermillion, an Indian-Mediterranean fusion restaurant, recommended by Mara's boss Shekar. It was absolutely awesome! The blue corn encrusted scallops were my favorite, and Mara really enjoyed her Paneer. We then walked off the bottle of wine for a few hours down by the lake, and headed back to our hotel.
Monday we headed back downtown and parked at the Field Museum, and walked around a bustling Chicago lakefront for a few hours. We then headed to the Museum of Science & Industry, on the South-Side, and went to Body Worlds 2. If you have never been, check out their schedule and go to one when it comes close. The Chicago one is only there until April 29th. We were amazed (again) at the complexity of the bodies on display. They even had a few preserved organs you could touch. The smoker's lung is something everyone should see.
After wondering around the museum for a while we headed to the "Friendly Confines", also known as Wrigley Field, for the Cubs/Brewers game. It was a little chilly (47°F, with 15 MPH breeze off the lake), but we were in it for the long haul. After 4 hours & 5 minutes, our Brewers came from behind and made our long weekend an unbelievable trip. We still had a 2 hour trip home (got home around 2am), but it was worth coming close to exhaustion for such a great weekend!

Here is a panoramic picture I took when we got to the game

Here is last out of the 12 Inning, 4 Hr Game...

Hope everyone else had a chance to enjoy the nice weather!
