X-Mas Lunch @ The Syring's

Just wanted to thank everyone who came over for X-Mas dinner! We had a blast hosting everyone! We had 13 people (15 with the pregnant Michelle & Sally) there, plus 4 dogs! The dogs were pretty good, given their track record. They did however get into the turkey & ham broth, and we had some pretty sick puppies for the next 2 days. Chris & Michelle bore the brunt of it when Maggie was sick in the car on the way back to Green Bay. Our kitchen floor had to be mopped 4 times that day...what a way to spend X-Mas Eve!
Hope everyone had a great holiday, and Happy New Year!
Here are a few pictures of the day...

Cancun

From January 17th-21st Mara and I will be setting out on an all inclusive trip to the Iberostar Resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico (Cancun area). This will be a well deserved trip since we have been working 5 jobs (Mara:3, Mike:2), and Mara's lab has been busier than EVER! Since we are also moving to go back to school, this will be our last "real" vacation for quite some time. I added a countdown for us to keep our spirits high...:)
We are heading out with some friends of ours, Tim & Allison, Nate, Wyatt, and Steph & JR. Should be one of the best vacations EVER!

New Beginning

This is our first post on our blog. We have created this blog to keep in touch with our friends and family. The reason we wanted to start this is that we will be moving farther away from our families and this will hopefully keep them updated on the numerous changes in our lives.
The first big news is that in about 7 months, August 2007, we expect to be in Kirksville, MO! Well, this may not sound like an exciting move to most people, we are really excited as this marks the beginning of medical school for Mara. ATSU-KCOM is an osteopathic medical school. Kirksville is about 45 minutes south of the Iowa border and in the middle of no where! There are absolutely no distractions and should allow plenty of time to focus on studying.
