We had an awesome day on Monday (80 Degrees & Sunny) so we brought the dogs out to Lapham Peak State Park for a 6 mile hike. Lucy, as usual, found herself off the trail, but this time it was while we were walking along a swamp/bog on an elevated trail. She couldn't get back up so she had to walk along the entire trail through the water. It was only a 1/4 mile or so, and she didn't seem to mind... Hope you enjoy!

Finally...
After 11 long months, nearly 100 showings, and a new garage door opener, ...we sold our house!!!! We close and move out on June 11th. We are currently looking for short term housing until the first week of August. We have already started packing, some won't get unpacked until Kirksville.

Mara The Golf Pro
I really have to get Mara some golf lessons, not because she is bad, but because she is pretty damn good! Last week we played 9 holes at a par 3 course, and she hit 5 of the 9 greens! I didn't even hit that many! She played like an all-star!
She did have a couple holes that she probably scored 20 or 30 on, but that was towards the end, and I think she was tired.
Today she is "working hard" and going golfing with her Neuroscience department. Hopefully she'll continue her dominance over Nick, who I think she beat last year...:)
Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend! We are headed up to Appleton to hang out with the family. Jen, Tony, the girls, and Grandma are all coming up as well. Should be a blast!

Welcome to the family, Jackson!
It's a boy! Chris & Michelle are the proud parents of Jackson Edward Stokes, born at 1:33am on Saturday, May 5th. He weighed in at 7lbs 12oz and 20in long. Chris and Shell are home enjoying their beautiful baby boy, our first nephew!
Less than 100 days...
...until school starts!!! It still seems pretty far away but I'm sure the time will pass quickly.
Brewers/Pirates with the Edmonds'
Last Thursday, before Austin left the hospital following his final chemo treatment, Brewers pitchers Ben Sheets and Derrick Turnbow stopped by. Austin got the Brewers hat that we gave him signed, a T-shirt, and suite tickets for Saturday's game against the Pirates.
Austin and his family had a well-deserved "night out" after being in and out of the hospital since January. We were very excited when Austin and his grandparents invited us to the game with them. It was great to see Austin out of the hospital acting like a 3 year old!
Austin was enthralled with the grounds crew both before and after the game. The walk out of the stadium was a little brisk and breezy for Austin, so we bnndled him up with whatever we had.

The excitement of the game and the cheering of the 40,361 fans didn't seem to faze Austin. The view from our suite on the 3rd base line was terrific and Mike got a good panaramic shot. We had free beer & soda and our own bathroom! It was an awesome evening and the Brewers 6-3 win was an added bonus!
Puppies get a bigger bed
After sharing a queen bed with 2 puppies (& sometimes Maggee & Gabby) we finally upgraded to a KING bed. IT IS AWESOME!!!! Linus still snuggles in just as close but Lucy is still confused on her place. She is used to sleeping under the bed but since it's a low profile bed from IKEA, only Linus can fit under. Our first few nights have been great, getting up in the morning has been significantly harder.
We've heard a good equation for how much room you're allowed in bed with your pets: as an example, at the most we've had 4 dogs (16 legs) plus 2 people (4 legs) for a total of 20 legs thus each person gets 1/10th of the bed (2 legs out of 20) while the dogs share the remaining 4/5ths of the bed. Our puppies definitely follow this equation!
